Days ago, Korean actress Park Shin Hye held her 1st fanmeeting in Shanghai, "Kiss of Angel". As a child actress, Park Shin Hye has participated in many hot tv drama "Stairway to Heaven", "You're Beautiful", and etc. Her popularity soared up high. To commorate her 10th anniversary of being in the showbiz industry, she is now having her Asia Tour with 6 countries involved by spending close-up moments with her fans. Upon her arrival to Shanghai, Park Shin Hye was specially interviewed by iFenSi.

Q: Question            SH: Park Shin Hye

Q: This is your 1st Fanmeet in China, how do you feel?
SH: Really happy, the other time I came was for TGC event. This time round is my first official fanmeet with my fans, the feeling is totally different.

Q: Previously, did you come to Shanghai?
SH: I came to Shanghai with my father 8 years ago, but that time I was very young, I could only recall that Shanghai is very big.

Q: Have you ever eaten Chinese delicacies?
SH: Steamboat, Stir-fry vegetables, I like them all

Q: In "You're Beautiful", the role of 'Go Mi Nam' is very welcomed by the Chinese fans from China. Recently, Taiwan has also remake this drama. How do you feel about your cameo in the first episode? 
SH: I really quite appreciate the director because he is also the director of "Hayate the Combat Butler" so I took time off specially to fly over to Taiwan to cameo in the drama. Personally, I feel that there is a difference in the Taiwan and Korea version, I am really looking forward to it. 

Q: In future, will you still challenge another role of disguising as a boy? 
SH: Not for now

Q: Previously you have worked together with many pretty Korean guys, which one of them do you feel that you have the chemistry with?
SH: Jang Keun Suk

Q: In the showbiz industry, your best friend(s) is(are)?
SH: "You're Beautiful"'s Jang Keun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Hong Ki and etc. In "Flower Boys Next Door" are Yoon Si Yoon and Park Soo Jin 

Q: "Flower Boys Next Door" is very popular in China. After debuting as a child actress, you have filmed quite a number of drama and movies. So, how do you manage your studies in between? 
SH: I have no problems in handling both of my career and studies. My acadamic results are quite good too 

Q: You often have to be on camera, so how do you maintain your complexion? Are there any special tips to share? 
SH: There isn't any special tips. It's just exercising and it is very important to remove your make-up cleanly. 

Q: You have many images, are there any roles that you would like to try?
SH: I really would like to try action films and be the fighting women 

Q: Are there any directors and actors from China that you would be looking forward to work together with? 
SH: Feng Xiao Gang(冯小刚), Yimou Zhang(张艺谋), John Woo(吴宇森) and etc, because there are many outstanding directors in China. I hope I will have the chance to work with them

Q: Do you have plans to make an album? What genre do you hope to try?
SH: I really wish to. I like Percussion and Korea also has a kind of Percussion beat but is not playing mainstream music. It belongs to the creation of orchestra music and I like it very much

Q: what are your future plans?
SH: Starting from August, I will be shooting for a new drama "Heirs", working with Lee Min Ho 

Q: What is the type of your ideal man?
SH: I feel that he must be someone like my father. Someone who is good at sports, culinary and also shows care and concern to family.

Interview with Park Shin Hye

The interview went on during the break time of the filming. The female lead appeared in the middle of the huge crowd.

During the interview, Korea was experiencing winter with frosty snowflakes. 

Hidden in layers of winter clothes, she looked petite and pampered. The Korean working crew kept reminding about the questions that I would raise because that day, she needs to cultivate her feelings and emotions for the filming. 

At the age of 14, she acted in <Stairway to Heaven> as the young Han Jung-suh. Her teary expressions engraved deeply in the audiences' memory, since then, she debuted her way up as an actress.

Her path of road in the snowbiz industry was not a smooth one during her transition from a young actress to a mature adult actress. 

In her first leading work of <Tree in Heaven> did not make it to the chart. Followed on was <Goong S>, which still, did not capture the hearts of the audience. In the recent years, her role to act as a male figure in <You're Beautiful> was a great hit. 

She has also acted in tvN <Flower Boys Next Door> as an introvert, Go Dok Mi. This drama has an overall ratings of 2%, which made it the highest drama ratings in the Korea cabled tv broadcast.

ShinHye: "Through Dok Mi, I felt that I have let the audience see the other side of me which I have not triggered in me. In the eyes of the public, I have always been a cheerful and lively girl. This time round, I have the chance to present a more serious and stern look."

In interviews, she would always say "I feel that Dok Mi has the same feelings about having to face people."

ShinHye: "As an actress, your life at any moment is in the eyes of the public. After a period of time, you will start to hide yourself, just like your personal life. I feel that Dok Mi and I are similar in this. Sometimes when people do not accept the real you, you will feel really hurt. This is also the reason behind why Dok Mi felt fear. I feel the same way for myself too.

In many times, when I showed the real me and not being an actress, the reaction of the other party hurts me... When there are times of online rumors and discriminating comments about me, I would feel very  startled. Especially those that has nothing to do with me, the things that I never did and the words that I never said. Whenever I faces these situations, I would choose to run away and hide myself up. This is why I feel that Dok Mi will have the same feelings as me."

Moreover, she is not a simple role to play, she is an introvert but frankly, enjoys friend's accompany. 

ShinHye: "I like people who treats me like a normal person, and not as a celebrity. After a busy day of filmings, I think that friends are the real factor of pulling me back to the reality. They fill up the emptiness in me."

As a child actress, with 10 years of experience, at the age of only 24, it is only wise to get the fame early. 

ShinHye: "I did not have much difficulty during the change of image because if I really want to accomplish one thing, I will put in my heart and soul to it."

However, there are times of helpless, especially the times when people do not take you seriously. 

ShinHye: "To many child celebrities, even though they have been working for a long time, they have accumulated many years of experience. As compared to those who are in this industry, they are still young. Sometimes, people will treat you as a child, and they will forget. You are now in this professional industry as a professional celebrity, this is the most difficult part to overcome. "

About her future path, she said, 

ShinHye: "In future, I believe I will still continue to act but, I do not know what kind of actress I will become. The thing that I can confirm is that I will continue to enjoy the joy in acting. I am also hoping that in the joy of acting, I will be able to affect my audience. In my personal life, I think I will want to be in a relationship, get married or maybe have a tour."

To Shin Hye, what is the gift for yourself towards 'Miracle in Cell No.7'?

ShinHye: To me, 'Miracle in Cell No.7' is a gift that allowed me to work with very outstanding directors, producers and casts. This is the moment where I can learn as much as I could and improve myself. At the same time, creating resonance with the audience.

In fact, Park Shin Hye has little scenes in the movie 'Miracle in Cell No.7', despite that, this work of hers has given her a lot of learning points. 

ShinHye: I know my parts are very little in this movie but, I still have to understand the role before acting in it because if I take it lightly, it will spoil the entire atmosphere of this movie. During the filming of 'Miracle in Cell No.7', I was shooting a solo scene hence, I was unable to film it smoothly at one go. After watching the production of the end movie, I cried at the first half of the movie.

These days, Park Shin Hye was seen to be having a number of interviews at this little cafe located at Hongdae area. Park Shin Hye seems to be very happy to be receiving a series of good comments from it despite undergoing such long hours for those interviews.

ShinHye: I was not trying to avoid those interviews previously but is because of my busy schedules and was unable to slot the interviews in. I am really happy to receive interviews about the good news (ShinHye is referring to 'Miracle in Cell No.7' big numbers in box office). Really feel excited and happy for people to listen to what I have to say.

After 'Miracle in Cell No.7' was released in the theatres, this movie has hit the top place in the box office by word of mouth and this has confirmed its popularity. Currently the box office has hit 9 million viewers. 

What are reasons for 'Miracle in Cell No.7' to be so popular among the people?

ShinHye: I think "Truthful" and "Kinship" are the elements that made this movie such a success. Although the plot of this movie may be simple, this movie is filled with smiles and touching moments. In this movie, there is warmth between people communicating with each other. I feel that the moments when 'Miracle in Cell No.7' is modelling an individualism society, it make people laugh, and at the same time cry.

Looking at the trailer of 'Miracle in Cell No.7', people normally laugh at it but at an inner depth, makes people feel touched and brings warmth. 

ShinHye: When I first watched the trailer, I felt "It will be interesting?" but, moving on with the plot, I slowly felt the characters. I too, feel like if I can do as good as the sunbaes. The young Ye-Seung (starring Gal So-won) also looked good on the screen. Daddy Yong-gu's (starring Ryoo Seung-ryong) inner heart is also very warm. Besides that, looking at daddy Yong-gu's expressions of being accused by laughing and crying reminds me of my father.

Currently the top all-time box office Korean movie <The Berlin File> is by the casts Ha Jung-woo, Han Suk-kyu, Ryu Seung-beom, Kim Seo-hyung, Jeon Ji-hyun and others. Now, <Miracle in Cell No.7> is so popular is because of the good efforts put in by the casts Ryoo Seung-ryong, Gal So-won, Oh Dal-su, Park Won-sang, Kim Jung-tae and others.

ShinHye: Each and everyone of us has one thing that we are good at and besides that, everyone was able to coordinate well and showed good tacit. I think it is because of this, the elements of the movie increased tremendously.  Sunbae Oh Dal-su's silence really surprised me. All the sunbaes have the capability of wide spreading and they are really very warm and interesting.

In the movie, Park Shin Hye's role is filled with feelings. At the same time, she is also the long-haired queen in tvN drama <Flower Boys Next Door> as Go Dok Mi. Besides her outstanding acting skills, she is also one with excellent skills in sports, singing and etc. Park Shin Hye is truely an actress who has many skills good in hand. Recently, she has also participate in recording of one of the OST in <Flower Boys Next Door>.

ShinHye: I have work hard and I can't control my curiosity getting more. As an actress, I definitely love my career and hence, I am still trying to learn more to improve my acting skills. I feel that participating in recording of the OST is also a role for me to play. Furthermore, this time round the song I have recorded is the main song for my 'Go Dok Mi' role. I will feel overwhelmed when trying to express the feelings of my role in this song. However, thinking to be as good as those singers, I felt this is a good chance. I will tell myself that to take upon this role as a singer and try it out.

Would like to thank my manager who has taken care of me and taught me to do things with humility all these while.

ShinHye: To say the one I am most grateful to is my manager oppa. He has taken care of me with no complains. We are really close together and no doubt, we will at ease with each other's presence. However, I still do feel there are times to be courteous to each other. He is a person when I failed to do some things, he will help me to complete them. There are also times when even though he is my manager, he also needs to seek for my views. Especially for taking up projects, work and etc. When there are periods of sensitivity, he is like the closest one I have. Outsiders only look at him from a distance but actually, he has been hurt many times. He is the one I would want to thank so many times. The simple phrase "You have worked hard" has given me so much energy to move on. Seems like people don't treasure the one infront of them, feels really shy to say this out now.

In this warm atmosphere, she never forgets to send her greetings to her fans. 

ShinHye: Many things happen in this year and the atmosphere have changed quite a lot, it is filled with warmth and hopes. It may sound simple but this is the year that people will laugh and received health. The most important thing is health. Only with good health, I am able give my 100% in my work. Hope that all of you are enjoying our movie <Miracle in Cell No.7>. Hope that all of you will understand the warmth hearts after all the laughing and crying. On the 5th, in Mapo-gu, Seoul Korea, in a coffee cafe, Shin Hye she had her celebrity interview and she revealed with bright smiles that she is really lucky to be able to received this interview. 

-Comparing her present opportunities to when she was young- 

As compared to other works, 'Miracle of Cell No. 7' has shown a very different side of Shin Hye as compared to her previous work that she had when she was younger. 

ShinHye: I felt the movie script was really interesting when I first read the script. Sunbae Oh Dal-su, Kim Jung-tae and Jung Man-shik are all in this movie. Futhermore, I am also anticipating working together with sunbae Ryoo Seung-ryong. I was really forward to working with all the sunbaes when I was reading the script. 

ShinHye: I asked myself how would I react if the story of Ye-Seung happened all upon me, and I also don't wish to miss the chance of working with all the sunbaes.

In addition, Park Shin Hye also went on to touch on her experience working with her sunbaes. 

ShinHye: I felt very burden as all the sunbaes have good reputation in the showbiz industry. They were all very nice to me. They gave me support and I felt happy throughout the filming process.

-Cried when the scene was at the law-court-

In the movie, Park Shin Hye played the role of 'Ye-Seung' and she had to prove her father's innocence (starring Ryoo Seung-ryong) when he was falsely accused and sent to the prison. The first scene of it was in the law-court. 

Facing such a huge and dense scene, Park Shin Hye did a lot of preparation. She has also suffered a lot of difficulties trying hard to speak and refute in law terms. 

ShinHye: Before the filming of the movie, I did a lot of homework beforehand. I read my script many times but, I went chaos when I got into the dense atmosphere and broke out into tears. 

-Towards fatherly love, it's the feeling of my father taking care of me- 

In the movie, we have seen Ye-Seung with and her father who has an intelligence of a 6-year-old, so when is the time where Shin Hye felt the love from her father?

ShinHye: The word 'Father' is a very rigid word but whenever I need anything, father will always help me to prepare for it.

Park Shin Hye mentioned before on her twitter when she was filming for 'Flower Boys Next Door' that she would like to eat her father's Doenjang Jjigae (homemade spicy stew) which will make her drool upon having it. She has used this very special coquetry voice to express her father's love and care for her at all times. 

Meanwhile, the movie 'Miracle of Cell No.7' has been on theatres for 12 days. The accumulated viewership has exceeded 4 million.

Actress Park Shin Hye (23 years old), always look very refreshing.

In every work of hers, she always appears to be a very refreshing lady who is full of energetic ready to go and this is the reason why netizens are attracted to her. This year, is Park Shin Hye's 10th year since her debut in 2003 for <Stairway in Heaven>. During these 10 years, she never fails to provide "freshness" for her audience. On top of that, whether it's a huge or a small change in her roles in the dramas/movies, people do not feel tired of her appearances on screen at all. Her recent drama <Flower Boys Next Door> is also very interesting. The Go Dok Mi who is a muddle-head yet full of charm has been attracting huge attention too. The reason for choosing <Miracle of Cell No.7>?

"My manager broke down into tears when he read it. So I was curious why, because he is not someone who cries easily. But, after reading the script, I broke down into tears too. I was unsure if I am able to present a total different Shin Hye to everyone. Hence, I am willing to give this challenge a try."

Although only having little participating scenes, I still feel like a princess.

"Initial stage»middle stage»ending stage, seems like they have all been showed. Filmed for 7 times but seems like the shooting parts are all gone. The director seemed to have cut a lot out. I felt sorry for not attending to the promotional event during the initial stage. The director also sent me a text message like "So sorry that only we got the limelight." to me.

Received good comments for the acting skills in the law-court.

"This is because I have watched dramas and movies that have scenes in the law-court and I have learnt a lot from it. I felt better with presence of the seniors'. Furthermore  because I have demonstrated a very natural acting skills, I have received good comments from my seniors."

Senior Seung-yong Ryoo's comment to you was "Healthy in both physical and mentally, the lady who have bright eyes of a little girl"

"I am happy to be looked upon like this. Senior Ryoo Seung-yong is just like another father to me. He is really warm and gentle. He said before that my inner heart is very determined. Really like Oh senior Dal-su and senior Kim Jeong-tae too because they acting skills are very matured and gives people a sense of reliability. I was startled by senior Oh Dal-su's matured appearance."

After watching the movie, my dad told me he cried too.

"Although they are ones who are very strict, they cried after watching the movie twice. They cried even more when they watched for the second time. It's just like the feel is different when watching for the 1st and 2nd time."

There are also comments "Park Shin Hye's acting is so good". 

The meaning of it is like "Never knew that Park Shin Hye have this side of hers. The dramas that I have been participating these days are not the usual kind of roles that I normally act to. There is also the fantasy side of me. The current drama also gave us the chance to re-taste the moments of being a high-school girl."

Although it's the 10th year since debut, I still feel very refresh.

"Feels like not a prolific actress. In my opinion, to define 'Actress', it is to show your fans the real me. Acting till now, I am not bending to get other roles to try out because I feel that bending to get to a matured role, the audience will also not accept it.

Having been taking up roles of "Love and Romantic" and now is casted in <Flower Boys Next Door>

"To be frank, even if it's a romantic love drama, it will still have subtle differences. It's really very interesting to be acting in that kind of roles. The title "Queen of Love dramas" actually has a little misunderstanding. For romantic dramas, it will not have very outstanding work even for a period of 3 to 4 years. After debuting for <Stairway to Heaven>, I have also tried to have many other roles like the role of a Villain. At this age, even if I want to try to be in the musical drama, I don't think that I will be able to fully understand it. It's just like finding another suitable clothings when acting in <You're Beautiful>. I will really feel like I am the Queen of Love dramas if people just keep calling me as "Queen of Love dramas". 

As an actress, don't you have any problems?

"There are always new seniors debuting, the environment in the showbiz is different everyday. I will have a sense of burden and starts questioning myself if I am able to do it. But, this kind of feeling, I supposed that every one will have. Even if there is stress, I will still resolve it by cycling along the Han river or during summer, I will go for a relax wakeboarding. 

Do you feel depressed aside from that experience?

I had this kind of thoughts when I was in University year 1. I wanted to feel the life of a student when I enrolled myself into the school but, my university friends Go Ara, Kim Bum and etc are having a lot of activities for their showbiz career. Hence, I asked myself if I am able to learn if my schedules are as packed as theirs. That is why I was feeling depressed for that time. 

Are you the kind where you will feel hurt reading online comments?

"I felt alright when I read online comments about the movie ratings recently but, in the morning when I read on my phone about news on "Jung Yong Hwa - Park Shin Hye love affair", I will feel "Like this again.." and I don't feel really good, I will throw my phone aside and continue my sleep."

Do you feel tired of the topic on love affairs?

"It is really amazing that even till now, people still thinks we have a love affair (Yong Hwa and Shin Hye). During the filming of the drama, people say that we are very compatible and this is a misunderstanding. Recently, when I listen to CNBlue's new songs, I felt really good. Yong Hwa is really a good singer and also a good actor."

Do you feel tired because of the concurrent promotional activities by movie and drama?

"To be frank, I went to emergency room last last Saturday. At midnight when I was filming in the Art gallery, suddenly I felt my body is very heavy. I was reading my script and a sharp pain pierced up from the corner of my leg, then I went black out. But thinking that I am now in the middle of the shootings, if I give up, I will implicate the rest of the casts and crew. In the end, I was being sent to the emergency room."


Senior Lee Seung-Hwan once trained you to be a singer, would you still choose to be an actress if you can go back 10 years before?

"Of course. I feel more motivated now than before. I have the motivation to want to work harder than before. To be frank, Senior Lee Seung-Hwan indeed trained me to be a singer but, the company crew said my acting skills is better than my singing skills, that is why I debuted as an actress."

Don't you have the desire to become a singer?

"I feel that I will be able to learn more thing as an actress. I have learnt Gayageum and also horse-riding. I feel that my role as an actress will definitely have the chance to let me sing. So, if I am a singer, I think I will get tired of it very soon."

What do you think you will become 10 years later?

"By that time, I will be 33 years old. Maybe I will be in roles that are very strict. I hope I can be like seniors Kim Hye-su, Kim Hee-ae or Kim Sung Ryoung. I hope to have acting skills that solely owned by "Park Shin Hye". Even till the age of 50 or 60, I will still prefer to continue my acting career. When I was young, seniors will say that I am cute and likes me when I said acting is fun. So, if I get on to the old age of the seniors, I will also do the same to my juniors. I will give them my support and confidence."

[NEWS] Park Shin Hye's gift for "Miracle in Cell No. 7"

Actress Park Shin Hye has been actively promoting the movie "Miracle in Cell No. 7", previously working title was "The Gift of Room 7" and early working title was "December 23". 

Actress Park is now filming for tvN hot drama "Flower Boys Next Door" and thus, she is unable to participate in most of the publicity event for the movie. Her way of showing support for "Miracle in Cell No. 7" is to promote the movie actively in her personal twitter and Japan Ameblo Blog. 

"Miracle in Cell No. 7" has exceeded more than 200 million views in just 6 days. One of the representative expressed, "It was a shocking response to see big numbers for the movie. Now we are receiving sudden interviews and publicity schedules. Although Park Shin Hye expressed that she did not participate a lot in the movie, she has expressed a lot of love for this movie. We are very pleased to make the movie hit top at the box office."

On the 28th, after receiving the interview, Park Shin Hye wrote on her twitter saying, "Had an interview for the whole day. I felt nervous because it has been a long time since I received an interview but, it was an happy and blissful moment. Although it's insufficient, thank you for listening to me because they are all the stories that I have to share."

"Miracle in Cell No. 7" has demonstrated the outstanding acting skills of the casts and has attracted audience to come forward continuously to watch the movie. On the 29th, the total audience has exceeded 2,055,948 and "Miracle in Cell No. 7" has now hit #1 at the top office.
